Owner and head trainer, Evan O’Donnell brings 30 years of horse show experience throughout North America and Europe and a host of accomplishments to the training and lesson programs at Black River Farm.

Each rider under Evan’s tutelage will benefit from a personalized training program that is tailored specifically to develop riding skills and to achieve the individual goals of the rider––no matter whether you are a seasoned professional or a first time amateur, child or adult.

For horses…

Evan O’Donnell has extensive experience training, evaluating, and representing horses and ponies that have become national champions. His individualized approach to training horses is very much like the training programs for riders. Each horse is personally evaluated and a training program is carefully designed to enhance its natural abilities and to develop and refine skills to meet the specific goals of the client.

A professional rider, Mr. O’Donnell has competed successfully throughout Europe and the United States with an impressive list of titles on his resume.

Carolyn Connoly became Area 1 Adult Jumper Champion and the winner of The $10,000 Marshall & Sterling League Adult Jumper Class at Washington International under the tutelage of Mr. O’Donnell.
